UN Women Digital Transformation Specialist (P4, FTA) – Job Overview:https://estm.fa.em2.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/CandidateExperience/en/sites/CX_1/job/23616
UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, is seeking a Digital Transformation Specialist to work in Bonn, Germany, on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving digital transformation efforts across UN Women’s platforms, which are central to advancing the organization’s vision of gender equality and empowering women. This position, offered initially for a one-year duration, presents a unique opportunity for professionals with a background in digital communications, web platform management, and digital governance to contribute to an impactful, international agenda.
UN Women’s Mission and Context:
UN Women was created by the United Nations General Assembly in July 2010, in response to a growing demand for a dedicated agency to address gender issues globally. The creation of this entity was part of the larger UN reform agenda to streamline operations and maximize impact. It brings together four previously distinct parts of the UN system that were already focusing on gender equality and women’s empowerment: DAW (Division for the Advancement of Women), OSAGI (Office of the Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women), INSTRAW (International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women), and UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women).
Today, UN Women works globally to eliminate discrimination against women and girls, empower women, and achieve gender equality. By leading the UN’s system-wide efforts on gender equality, UN Women is also focused on advocacy and coordination, ensuring that gender equality is placed at the center of global development, human rights, peace, and security agendas.
A critical part of UN Women’s strategy is effectively using digital tools and platforms to communicate its mission, raise awareness, and engage with diverse stakeholders, including governmental bodies, civil society, and the general public. The Digital Transformation Specialist will play a key role in advancing these efforts by managing and improving the organization’s digital infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:
The Digital Transformation Specialist will work closely with the Global Lead for Communications and Advocacy to drive forward the organization’s digital transformation initiatives. These initiatives are focused on improving the efficiency and impact of UN Women’s digital outreach, content delivery, and engagement efforts.
