Office/Unit/Project Description:
The Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA) handles UNDP’s external relations and advocacy functions. The Advocacy, Media, and Communications Group (AMCG) within BERA manages external communications, including strategy, media, digital communications, marketing, branding, and global storytelling.
Position Overview:
The Senior Digital Support Specialist will be a key member of the Digital Communications Studio (DCS) in AMCG. This role involves maintaining and evolving UNDP’s digital ecosystem, including web properties and other platforms. The Specialist will provide technical support, manage web projects, and act as a liaison between UNDP and external agencies, particularly concerning the enterprise platform (Acquia Digital Experience Platform).
Scope of Work:
- Web Support:
- Provide technical support and advice to HQ units, regional centers, and country offices.
- Ensure adoption of new features and modifications in the web system.
- Manage user accounts and provide guidance on web technologies and digital communications.
- Website Management:
- Manage internal client dialogue to define and implement website renewal projects.
- Develop and execute implementation plans for projects, including budgets and schedules.
- Propose and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Liaise with the Office of Information Management and Technology and external vendors to ensure secure hosting.
- Digital Communications Strategy:
- Align users with UNDP web design standards.
- Advise on search engine optimization for visibility of the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Customize reports, analyze web performance, and propose optimization strategies.
- Additional Duties:
- Map changes to the digital ecosystem and gather user feedback for improvements.
- Contribute to the DCS team and undertake additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
- Education: Advanced university degree (master’s degree) in relevant fields, or a bachelor’s degree with additional qualifying experience.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years (with master’s degree) or 12 years (with bachelor’s degree) of experience in IT platforms and web applications, including content management systems. At least 4 years of experience with enterprise web CMS and 3 years of web development experience with Java, JavaScript, XML, CSS is required.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language (Spanish or French) is an asset.
Travel:
UNDP will cover travel costs to and from the duty station, excluding remote work arrangements.
