Position Overview

The strategic goal of UNICEF’s Information and Communication Technology Division (ICTD) is to leverage technology to implement UNICEF programmes globally through innovative solutions. The Business Analyst, reporting to the Senior ICT Business Relationship Manager (BRM), will play a key role in supporting ICT business relationships and aligning technology with business needs to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Identification and Analysis of ICT Business Demands and Objectives:

  • Support the Senior ICT Business Relationship Manager in identifying, proposing, developing, and prioritizing ICT business demands and strategic technologies for the cluster.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements, conducting feasibility studies and drafting proposals for evaluation by ICT Project Governance entities.
  • Assist in business process redesign and documentation for new technology initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between the cluster and ICT Solutions Center, ensuring coordinated service delivery and troubleshooting issues.

Business Process Design and Support:

  • Develop and document product requirements for user testing and system integration testing, ensuring minimal risk and adequate testing of business results.
  • Work with business counterparts to design, deliver, and maintain a sustainable user training program.
  • Propose and define options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impacts on business processes and system requirements.

Service Management and Support:

  • Develop and resolve complex ICT-enabled business cases in the cluster, including cost-benefit analyses and project prioritization.
  • Create performance metrics and key performance indicators to measure client satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing customer expectations, identifying gaps between customer needs and IT capabilities, and finding innovative solutions.
  • Develop guidelines for evaluating ICT-related services and products, ensuring governance and adherence to standards and policies.

Advocacy and Change Management:

  • Act as a liaison for business requirements and results between business divisions and ICT.
  • Conduct change management activities, including communication and advocacy, to minimize disruption and achieve desired results from ICT projects.
  • Promote IT-enabled solutions and deliver IT innovation and awareness programs.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Advanced University Degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in management information systems, computer science, business administration, information technology management, or related social science fields.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree combined with 2 years of additional professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced Degree.

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in information management technology within a large international organization or corporation.
  • Experience in areas such as Web/Mobile solutions, Data management, Business intelligence, Customer relationship management, Technical Architecture, or IT Operations.
  • Proven experience in engaging with multiple stakeholders and supporting large, complex projects or IT consulting/staff roles.

Specific Skills:

  • Extensive understanding of integrated ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and related business applications in global organizations.
  • Experience with advocacy and outreach communication platforms, including social media, or open source software development.
  • Experience with emergency ICT systems or emerging data sources and analytics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fundraising processes, customer relationship management solutions, and social media tools.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English, with advanced written and oral proficiency. Knowledge of another UN official language (Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian) is an asset.
