Responsibilities
- Research: Conduct research to identify potential employers and community partners who can collaborate on Early Employment initiatives aimed at enhancing refugee employment prospects.
- Client Support: Work closely with refugee clients by providing job readiness counseling, training sessions, and assistance with resume building and interview preparation.
- Application Assistance: Guide and support clients in filling out online and paper applications for employment opportunities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Interview Support: Accompany refugee clients to job interviews and orientations, providing logistical support and helping to alleviate any language or cultural barriers they may encounter.
- Data Management: Assist Employment Specialists by entering case notes and other relevant data into designated databases accurately and promptly. Maintain organized and up-to-date client records.
- Administrative Support: Contribute to the smooth operation of the Economic Empowerment team by assisting in the creation, organization, and maintenance of client case files and providing general administrative support as needed.
- Additional Tasks: Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the broader goals of the IRC office in Tallahassee.
Minimum Qualifications
- Interest: A strong interest in working with diverse international populations and a commitment to humanitarian causes.
- Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in employment-related activities such as counseling, application assistance, and basic career coaching.
- Cross-cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively and respectfully across cultural differences, demonstrating sensitivity and empathy.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, including the ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities effectively.
