Internship Opportunity: Education Sector

Duty Station: Headquarters, Field Offices, and Institutes
Type of Contract: Internship

Tasks and Responsibilities

Programme and Project Support:

  • Participate in project document preparation and review.
  • Draft notes and prepare technical annexes.
  • Assist in developing conceptual frameworks and concept notes.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data.
  • Contribute to document production, working papers, and working groups.

Research and Knowledge Management:

  • Conduct specific research and reviews to produce work products.
  • Contribute to knowledge and communication products for advocacy.
  • Participate in meetings and seminars to support sectoral objectives.

Partnerships:

  • Analyze background data for potential partnerships and fundraising.
  • Liaise and build networks with national administrations and international organizations.

Operations Support:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, events, workshops, and conferences.
  • Assist in budget preparation and project documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Age: Minimum 20 years old.
  • Academic Qualifications:
    • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent) OR
    • Recently graduated within 12 months with a Master’s degree or PhD (or second university degree).
    • Studies related to UNESCO’s fields of competence (Education, Culture, Sciences, Communication, Social Sciences) or supportive areas (Law, Human Resources, Management Studies, International Relations, etc.).
    • Good academic track record demonstrated by certificates or official records.
  • Languages:
    • Excellent command of English or French (written and spoken).
    • Working knowledge of the other language (English or French) is an asset.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent knowledge of computer systems and office-related software.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well in a team and adapt to an international environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Benefits and Entitlements

  • Remuneration: UNESCO does not provide financial compensation for internships.
  • Leave: Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month during the internship period.
